WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Washington County Clerk of Courts will have a criminal contempt of court hearing for a confrontation that happened last week at the courthouse.
Brenda Davis was handcuffed and detained after refusing to hand over documents that she believes belong in her office.
The President Judge signed an order the morning of the confrontation that said Davis’s office would have to turn over juvenile records.
Davis appealed and said she should have been given 30 days for the appeal. Deputies and the court administrator came directly to her office instead.
A lawyer from the sheriff’s department said the deputies were following a court order.
As of now, Davis has filed five appeals and wants charges to be pressed against the people who detained her.
