PITTSBURGH — Neighbors along Crestline Place in the East Hills say they woke up Sunday morning to water gushing through their yards into their homes.
Steven Clark and Renee Wilson-Clark are stunned by what happened along Crestline Place Sunday morning when a 36-inch water line broke shooting gallons of water into the street. They say an official from the water company just happened to be in the area around 10 a.m. when he noticed the leak.

Renee Wilson-Clark said, “The water guy said he was just doing some rounds and he came past and he seen it and that’s when he came and banged on the door.”
Crestline Place neighbors say they called the emergency water company line but couldn’t get through.
For over 2 and a half hours the Clark family says the water kept gushing.
Wilson-Clark said, “I was really worried about the garage door caving in because it was such a hard flow.”
It flooded the entire street, along with the family’s three cars and their basement.
Steven Clark said, “It’s a mess there was this much water down there. I was worried about it coming upstairs.”
They say at one point, they were concerned they may have to evacuate.
“Never seen anything like that in my life. For it to go on that long and nothing’s being done that’s really was my problem,” Clark said.
WPXI crews captured video of the water flooding other nearby areas too. Hunter Park had raging rapids rolling through. Nearby roads were closed as low-lying areas collected water and debris.
Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority officials are working to shut the leak off. After that, crews can make the necessary repair. It’s unclear how long that could take.
