MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. — A nursing home in Westmoreland County was evacuated after a report of a gas leak Wednesday evening.
Harmon House Health and Rehab Center at 601 South Church Street in Mount Pleasant was evacuated at around 6:21 p.m., Westmoreland County dispatchers said.
The building was evacuated with the patients transported by bus and ambulance to Frick Hospital, which is across the street.
The staff and residents of Amber House Personal Care Home - which is at the same address as Harmon House - were staying in the lobby of the assisted living facility while fire crews and utility crews remain on scene, dispatchers said.
