Westmoreland County residents enjoy holiday parade in Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Residents came out to begin their early holiday celebrations with a parade in Greensburg.

The parade featured a special float from the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. The float featured a larger-than-life reproduction of a work by an artist known as “Grandma Moses.” The piece is called “Sugaring Off” and depicts a charming winter scene.

Plenty of other floats and fire trucks were also in the parade.

Members of the Hempfield area high school marching band performed Jingle Bell Rock for parade visitors.

While the band played Christmas carols, some parade visitors showed up in turkey hats, celebrating the Thanksgiving season as the event went on.

Special guests, such as the Grinch, also made an appearance.

“We love coming out to the Greensburg parade, especially on a cold day like this,” said Greensburg resident Anne Chedrick. “It makes it really warm and festive and gets us ready for the holiday season.”
