SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 12-year-old girl is in critical condition after she was run over while riding her hoverboard Saturday night.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were called to the intersection of 6th Street and Osborne Street in South Huntingdon Township for a “serious vehicle crash” around 7:17 p.m.

Police said the child was riding the hoverboard with a kart buggy attachment when a car hit her.

Police also said that while the driver was going at a low rate of speed, they didn’t see the girl because of the low profile of the hoverboard.

The girl was pinned underneath the car, according to officials. She was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
