NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Teresa Fetterman, a New Kensington woman whose 3-year-old son died after a month in the hospital earlier this year, is now facing charges related to his death.
Mikel Fetterman was hospitalized on March 26 and died from his injuries weeks later on April 24. His mother’s boyfriend, Keith Lilly Jr., was charged with homicide last week.

Lilly and the boy’s mother lived together, but until this week she had not been criminally charged.
Doctors told police that Mikel was covered in bruises, and had a skull fracture, brain bleed and fractures all over in various stages of healing.
Charges against 23-year-old Teresa Fetterman include involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and more.
Someone called for help for an unresponsive child at approximately 1 a.m. the morning that Mikel was hospitalized, investigators said.

Lilly was originally arrested on April 3 for aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person, which was before Mikel died.
Fetterman told police she was sleeping while she left the boy in Lilly’s care the night 911 was called. Lilly allegedly told officers Mikel fell off the couch.
Lilly also initially told police he gave the boy Tylenol and then found him not breathing before calling 911.
Doctors said this wasn’t the first time Mikel was abused and told investigators there were both new and old injuries resulting from physical trauma and suspected sexual abuse.
