TARENTUM, Pa. — The woman accused of causing this fiery crash on the Tarentum bridge when it was closed and under construction has now been charged with causing the crash, leaving the scene and driving under the influence.
Police charged Allison Plusquellic, of Lower Burrell, after they say she slammed her car into multiple pieces of construction equipment, catching her car and some of the heavy machinery on fire.
Officers say she caused about $200,000 worth of damage.
The Tarentum bridge was undergoing construction for 10 days before the crash.
Road closed signs flanked the end of the bridge with amber flashing lights on top, warning drivers of the closure.
Plusquellic told Allegheny officers, “there were no signs.”

Tarentum Police say they checked surveillance video and saw Plusquellic limping from the scene toward the Marathon gas station.
She allegedly told witnesses nearby she wrecked her car, and was crying and shaken up.
Police found Plusquellic near a Chevy dealership, they say, visibly intoxicated.
Channel 11 tried reaching out to Plusquellic in person and by phone, but couldn’t get ahold of her.
Tarentum Police say despite giving a policy number, Plusquellic didn’t have the car involved covered by insurance.
