PITTSBURGH — A woman died Friday evening after being hit by a truck in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, according to police.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the truck struck the woman around 6:30 p.m. as she walked into the street on Maytide Street, near Bethesda Street.

The woman, identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office as Tamara Pullen, 36, was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital. She was pronounced dead shortly after 7 p.m., Toler said.
It is unclear whether the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, but police said it was not a hit-and-run.
The accident remains under investigation.
