Woman sues Bell Township bar, claims drunken fall from stool left her paralyzed

BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman is suing a bar in Bell Township, claiming she was left a quadriplegic after being served too much alcohol two years ago.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, the lawsuit filed by 55-year-old Mary Jo Jordan of Avonmore claims her injuries were caused by negligence of the staff at Lone Star Inn on Perrysville Road.

Jordan claims she was continuously served vodka and beer despite being visibly intoxicated.

“As a result of being served alcoholic beverages by the defendants after she was visibly intoxicated, the plaintiff was caused to fall from a bar stool causing her to suffer serious injuries and damages,” the lawsuit reads.

According to the lawsuit, Jordan said she suffered spinal injuries, a concussion and other ailments. She later suffered from pneumonia, adjustment disorder and depression.

The manager at the Lone Star Inn declined to comment on the situation, the Tribune-Review said.

Jordan is suing for an unspecified amount in damages for pain and suffering and loss of future earnings.
