MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU is targeting Rich Rodriguez to return to the helm as football head coach, ESPN reports.
Insider Pete Thamel cited sources that say a deal is nearly completion but has yet to be finalized.

Rodriguez, 61, went 60-26 in his seven years at WVU from 2001-07, including three-straight 10-win seasons. He was also the coach when Pitt defeated WVU in 2007, which ended their shot at a national championship.
