ROCHESTER BOROUGH, Pa. — The loved ones of a young mother who was found murdered Wednesday inside her Rochester Borough, Beaver County, apartment are remembering her and hoping justice will be served to whoever is responsible for her death.
“It’s pretty much like a dream, you know what I’m saying? It’s, like, not real,” said Mark Yaros.
Yaros is the father of Lisa Stover’s children, who were with him when he found Stover shot to death inside the Riverview Terrace apartment.
“I see her on the bed and I’m like, ‘Lisa, what’s up?’” Yaros said. “I grab her and pull her up, and next thing you see is blood all over her face.”
The children, 3 and 10 years old, also saw Stover’s lifeless body. Yaros said that he was bringing them back to their mother’s apartment and that she had stopped responding to text messages.
Yaros said that when he arrived at the apartment, the door was locked. He then forced his way in and made the discovery.
Stover’s mother, Sherry Zelinsky, said her daughter was cautious and kept to herself. She doesn’t understand why someone would kill her.
“It makes me mad, angry, sad, hurt … all kinds of things,” Zelinsky said. “She was my beautiful baby girl, and he ripped her out of my life like she was nothing -- and she was something.”
Zelinsky and Yaros want Stover’s killer to be held accountable. Police are investigating, but they do not have any suspects or a motive.
“He took something from me and I’m gonna do everything in my power to find out who this person is,” Yaros said.
Stover's family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses and to raise money for her children (CLICK HERE).
