A person has been taken into custody in Florida in connection with a series of package bombs sent to prominent Democrats and others across the country, the Justice Department says.

According to The New York Times, Cesar Sayoc, 56, was arrested Friday in Plantation, Florida, about 20 miles from Miami.
Sarah Flores, spokeswoman for the Justice Department, says a news conference is scheduled for later Friday to discuss the arrest.
We can confirm one person is in custody. We will hold a press conference at the Department of Justice at 2:30pm ET.
