PITTSBURGH — For the third consecutive year, the Pittsburgh Penguins will face the New York Rangers in the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.
The series will begin Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Game 2 will also be played at CONSOL Energy Center Saturday and will be televised on Channel 11.
The Rangers will host games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 21.
The Eastern Conference playoffs were settled Sunday night with the New York Islanders' 5-2 loss to Philadelphia.
The Islanders are seeded seventh and will take on the Atlantic Division champion Panthers starting Thursday night.
The Rangers stayed in third in the Metropolitan Division, and will face the second-place Penguins.
