Police: Incident between 2 boys at Norwin bus stop was over girl

IRWIN, Pa. — Families in the Norwin School District were alerted Tuesday morning by the district about a report of an attempted assault at a school bus stop.

According to the district, someone tried to assault a high school student who was waiting for a bus near Ward and St. Clair streets in the area of Stewartsville Elementary School.

North Huntingdon Township police investigated and said the incident involved two juvenile boys, one of whom was verbally attacking the other over a girl.

Both boys will be charged with non-traffic citations for disorderly conduct, police said.

The district is urging parents to take extra precautions when putting their children on the bus, and extra personnel were on duty Tuesday morning at all school buildings in the district.
