WEST DEER TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — Investigators are asking the public for help in finding evidence in a case of a double-murder in West Deer Township.
The bodies of James and Carol Ann Yeckel were discovered earlier this month. It took police days to find and question the couple's son.
During questioning, police said James Yeckel Jr., 52, kicked over two computers and a fingerprint machine at the West Deer Police Department. He's been charged with criminal mischief and has been ordered to undergo a mental-health evaluation, police said. He has not been charged in connection with the deaths.
However, police said they believe the man hid a dark-colored backpack and a bicycle shortly before he was picked up by officers on Sunday in Harmar Township.
Police want to have a look at those items and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
