ROBINSON TWP., Pa.,None — Robinson Township police said prostitution is becoming a large problem in area hotels.
Investigators said prostitutes are advertising online and using Robinson Township hotels to render their services. Undercover officers told Channel 11 News that they are surfing the Internet and staging stings at the hotels so they can make arrests.
Police also said they're also running surveillance of local hotels from unmarked vehicles.
"We've done a lot of task force with our region and these things are all leading to the Robinson hotels. That's pretty much what we're focused on and we're trying to get control of this," said Chief Dale Vietmeier.
Police said that eliminating hotel prostitution is probably not going to happen but they said they're working to get an ordinance passed to help control the problem and keep the community safer.
