Scottdale Mom Charged With Assisting Daughter In Thefts

SCOTTDALE, Pa.,None — A 65-year-old mother from Scottdale is accused of assisting her daughter in several recent thefts.

Police said Joann Warrick drove her daughter, Tina Warrick, 40, to several stores where the woman used a stolen credit card to purchase merchandise.

Joann Warrick has been charged with receiving stolen property, accessing device fraud and criminal conspiracy.

Tina Warrick has been charged with four counts of forgery and seven counts each of receiving stolen property, theft, access device fraud and identity theft.

Police said Tina Warrick altered the credit card to charge more than $12,000 worth of merchandise from local stores and websites.

Surveillance video from the Hempfield Walmart helped police identify Tina Warrick as a suspect.
