Homicide Charges filed in mass shooting at Beaver County housing complex

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Five people were shot at a Beaver Falls housing complex Monday night.

Police swarmed Harmony Dwellings 10th Street at 10th Avenue in Beaver Falls just before 9:30 p.m. after reports of multiple people being shot.

Two of the shooting victims died, including Dwayne Lee Wells, 31 of Beaver Falls and Youngstown, and Monte Carlos Warren, 30, of Michigan. The coroner has ruled both deaths as homicide.

Two people had to be flown to the hospital by medical helicopter and one person was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Charges of Criminal Homicide were filed against Decarlos Kavaun Warren, 20, of Michigan.

Federal agents have been asked to assist in locating Warren and bringing him back to Beaver County.

Bullets riddled the building, with more than a half-dozen bullet holes in the walls, windows and neighboring buildings.

Toys and bottles were seen scattered just steps away from a playground.

People living here say this has been extremely unsettling, considering the number of gunshots, victims and families living in the area.

“Personally, I know there’s a lot of kids around here. I was worried about someone’s kids getting hit. Personally, I was like, ‘this whole family is down here. Everyone’s got babies,’” said a Beaver Falls resident.

Channel 11 watched from a distance as investigators towed away a red sedan. Neighbors tell us it was taken as evidence.

Surveillance cameras could play a key role in this investigation.
