Shooting near Monroeville restaurant stems from fight over woman, police say

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A man was injured Tuesday night in a shooting near a restaurant in Monroeville, police said.

Monroeville police said they received a report at 9:20 p.m of multiple shots fired in the area of the TGI Friday's restaurant on Mall Boulevard.

The 23-year-old victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Monroeville police Chief Doug Cole told Channel 11 News that the shooting stemmed from a domestic incident involving two men and a woman.

No arrests have been made, but Cole told Channel 11 News that the shooter is a current employee of the restaurant.

Police believe that the shooter, the woman's ex-boyfriend, fired shots at her current boyfriend.
