PITTSBURGH — A SWAT team was called Thursday evening to Pittsburgh’s Arlington neighborhood after a man himself in his apartment when officers arrived to serve him a protection from abuse order, or PFA.
Investigators confirmed that around 7:15 p.m., SWAT officers were called to the 2000 block of Arlington Avenue. The entire block was closed, with traffic being detoured down Spring Street.
Authorities said the officers were serving a PFA order on Roman Edmunds when he barricaded himself inside his apartment and refused to come out.
Officers safely evacuated his neighbors who also lived in the apartment complex. The woman who filed the PFA was not at the apartment.
Police said as soon as SWAT officers began to approach the apartment to make entry just before 8:30 p.m., Edmunds came out and surrendered.
In addition to the PFA order, Edmunds faces robbery charges that stem from prior warrants, authorities said.
