Teacher’s love for Christmas lives on after losing battle with breast cancer

Breakfast with Santa is a time for little ones to tell the big man in the red suit what they would like to see under the tree this year -- and a chance for students at Our Lady of Grace to get credit for their required service projects.

Putting the two together made perfect sense for much loved Our Lady of Grace teacher Amy Fallert.

“My mom came up with the idea of I love Christmas, I love my eighth-grade students, They need service hours, let’s do a Santa breakfast," said Mallory Fallert, Amy Fallert’s daughter.

A huge fan of spreading Christmas cheer, almost all of the decorations at the Santa Breakfast were from Amy Fallert’s own collection, except for the Angel Tree. It’s covered in pink angels to bring awareness to breast cancer, which took Amy Fallert from her family, friends, students and co-workers just six short months ago.

At her funeral, it was announced that this year, the breakfast would be renamed the Amy Fallert Memorial Santa Breakfast.
