Temperatures approaching record highs Friday, throughout weekend

PITTSBURGH — Grab the umbrella as you head out Friday and Saturday. A strong storm will bring several rounds of rain and near-record warm temperatures back into the area.

Highs will push into the mid-to-upper-50s Friday, not far from the record high of 60 degrees set in 1924.

By Saturday, spring-like temperatures return, as highs jump into the mid-60s – just a few degrees off the record high of 68 degrees set in 1890.

Rain could be steady at times both days, but there should be several rain-free hours for you to enjoy the warm up, especially Saturday.

Winds will also pick up with this system, with gusts topping 30 mph.
