MUNHALL, Pa. — A Munhall family is still coming to terms after a 19-year-old woman was shot, according to police, 17 times by her ex-boyfriend.
Miranda Grimm-Gilarski died Saturday.
Darian Abel, 20, is facing charges. The two of them had been in a tumultuous relationship, Abel told police.

The relationship involved physical fights, most recently at the end of October.
When Abel received a court summons for that incident, police said he called Miranda, loaded a gun, then drove to her home and shot her to death.
"I want to know why. What were you going through so bad that you had to take someone else’s life?" said Danielle Gilarski, Miranda's sister. "My emotions are up and down. I'm crying then I’m trying to be OK for my daughter, then I go in the other room and cry."

A few weeks before her sister's death, Gilarski said the couple stayed at her home. She said she didn't notice anything bizarre, but told Channel 11 Abel has "anger issues."
"I asked her, 'Are you happy, are you happy?' 'Yes, I’m happy.' 'No, you’re not,'" Gilarski said. "I just keep reading the news articles, and no matter what way they word it, it’s still not real. It will probably never be real."
