The North Park ice rink is open for the season through mid-march! Right now, South Park ice rink is under renovation and won't be open until a later date. Once they open, there will be a new NHL sized ice rink and skate trail.

Starting Friday, Market Square in Downtown Pittsburgh will hold their sixth annual Peoples Gas Holiday Market. The market includes several different vendors, places to grab snacks and Santa's house where you have the chance to take a photo with him.

Starting Saturday through Nov. 30, the zoo will be offering free admission as a thank you for supporting them throughout the whole year.

Fun Fore All's traditional Holiday Lights Mini Golf begins Friday. They transform their golf courses into a walk through light show. The walk through includes two light tunnels, a 20ft Christmas tree, and a musical show. There are different events held everyday, with Friday being their Light Up Night.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore new species on exhibit including a daily free-flight bird show. They also offer daily owl talks included with admission. You will learn about owls' unique traits, such as their hunting ability.

They offer different routes year-round, any day of the week. They are holding several different runs this weekend. The tours will explore the amazing views of Pittsburgh, and there will even be time to stop for photos.

Friday

The city of Pittsburgh will kick off the start of the holiday season with it's annual celebration. The event includes the lighting of the Unity Tree, Season of Lights display, live music, fireworks and more.

Saturday

Every Saturday through Dec. 23, there will be horse drawn carriage rides through Market Square. The rides are free and and do not require a reservation, although they encourage everyone to arrive early.

Sunday

There will be a 6 to 8 mile trek along Nine Mile Run. The hike will go through Frick Park and end at it's terminus at the Monongahela River. There will be a break for lunch along the banks of the river.

Sneak Preview into next weekend!

It's almost that time of year again! WPXI's annual Holiday Parade will take place Nov. 25 starting at 9 a.m. on Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh. Performers include Chris Jamison from "The Voice" and Jeff Jimerson, recording artist and Pittsburgh Penguin's national anthem singer and Mirror Image from season 12 of "America's Got Talent."
