A 13-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday morning on the South Side.
The accident took place at the intersection of East Carson and South 20th streets around 11:30 a.m., according to city public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler.

Police located and stopped the driver involved at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Mount Oliver Street, Toler said in a release.
Police took Genise Stevenson, 27, of Point Breeze, into custody.
The boy was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no update on the boy’s condition at this time.
