An endowed scholarship “exists forever,” according to school officials. Donations to the fund ranged from $10 to $2,500 and came from four states in addition to Pennsylvania.
The scholarship will go toward a second-year student enrolled full-time in the school’s nursing program who maintains at least a 3.0 grade-point average.
One man has been arrested and a warrant was issued for another in connection with Kaufman’s death. Originally from Chicora, she worked as an ICU nurse in a Nashville hospital and was on her way to work when she was shot and killed. She received bachelor’s degrees from California and Clarion universities before enrolling at BC3.
