138 more COVID-19 cases reported in Allegheny Co.; state counts nearly 800 new cases

PITTSBURGH — Health officials in Allegheny County reported 138 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday. The test results are from samples taken July 3 through July 18.

One more person was hospitalized and one more person had died from the virus.

Allegheny County totals include 6,263 cases, 508 hospitalizations and 208 deaths since the outbreak began.

Statewide, the Department of Health reported 786 more cases of coronavirus. The statewide total now sits at 101,027.

In the last five days, 146,701 tests have been given and there was 5,552 positives. Across the state, 7,015 people have died from the virus and 926,3552 people have tested negative so far.

The southwest region of the state has gone from approximately 5% of cases in April to approximately 21% of all cases in July.
