PITTSBURGH — Two people were killed and a child was critically hurt when the car they were all in crashed and caught on fire in Pittsburgh’s Chateau neighborhood.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday near Beaver Avenue and Island Avenue, police said.

The car, which was the only vehicle involved, hit a bridge abutment on Beaver Avenue near the intersection of Island Avenue and then caught on fire.
Emergency responders then had to pull the two adults and a child from the burning vehicle. The adults have been identified as Lynika Barron, 25, and Dominick Hall, 24.

The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Officials told Channel 11 two police officers were injured with minor scratches trying to rescue the woman from the car and that a dog was also killed in the crash.
