“We did have a couple of people entrapped on a back porch. The police department and fire department did work together to get the person, the two people off,” said Chief Merle Pusey with the West Wilmington Fire Department.
Crews rushed to the building just after 1 a.m. on Friday and found a fire in an apartment on the second floor. The fire was contained but the smoke forced everyone out.
The Red Cross was working to find people displaced from the building temporary housing.
