5th straight day of over 100 new COVID-19 cases reported in Allegheny Co.; no new deaths

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County officials reported an increase of 150 positive cases of COVID-19, marking the fifth straight day of over 100 new cases.

Two more people required hospitalization from the virus but there were no additional deaths reported.

Health officials said the new cases were in people ranging in age from 3 to 87 years old. The average was 26.

Yesterday, health officials said the positivity rate for the virus had increased from 5% to 10% in the county. Since Monday, there have been 862 new positive cases. Leaders enacted a week-long order banning in-person dining in an effort to slow the virus.
