PITTSBURGH — City and local leaders are searching for developers to turn the once bustling former Carnegie Library of Hazelwood into something new.
“I wish they would do something for it you know it looks like a good building,” local resident Deborah Thomas said.
It's a local historic landmark that is now standing vacant.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is working to choose a developer to purchase the property on Monongahela Street, issuing request for proposals in September.
A review committee will be vetting the pitches, according to our new partners at TribLIVE.
“I think they need to clean it up and make something happen here. We don’t have nothing in Hazelwood, so we need some kind of activity maybe for the kids. You know kids need more, too much stuff going around in the world,” Thomas said.
