Abby Lee Miller on path to walking again after recent surgery, says she has 3 shows in the works

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s own reality television star, Abby Lee Miller, shared her recovery from recent surgery and what she has planned in the future in an interview with “Extra TV.”

Two years ago, the former ‘Dance Moms’ star underwent a lifesaving spinal surgery and was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma. Since then, she has used a wheelchair -- but she was ruled cancer-free last year.

According to Extra, Miller recently had another surgery to “help alleviate pain, regain mobility, and walk again.”

Dr. Hooman Melamed told the show how her medical history, including chemo, played a major factor in the difficulty of the procedure. However, she is now on the path to recovery and freely walking again.

Another one of her doctors said the goal is another three to six months of therapy before she can fully walk.

Regarding her professional life, Miller told the show she is working on three different shows -- two reality shows and a scripted show. She declined to go into further detail, saying she “probably wasn’t supposed to say that" she had these things in the works.
