PITTSBURGH — “Abby’s Virtual Dance Off,” a reality show with Abby Lee Miller, has reportedly been canceled after a former “Dance Moms” participant called Miller out for past racist comments.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the spin off show was to feature the professional choreographer and dancers from around the country who submitted videos of their routines. It was supposed to air this summer.
EW said Miller posted a “Blackout Tuesday” square on Instagram to show her support for those protesting the death of George Floyd. Adriana Smith, whose daughter Kamryn was involved with “Dance Moms Season 8″, responded with her own post. It called Miller out for what she claimed were racist comments.
Smith said she pulled her daughter out of the show because of Miller’s comments.
Camille Bridges, the mother of another “Dance Moms” participant, also said Miller mistreated her because of her race.
Miller posted an apology to her Instagram account on Thursday.
