BUTLER, Pa. — Alameda Waterpark in Butler is delaying its opening due to a lack of lifeguards.
According to our partners at Butler Radio, Butler County officials say they hope the opening will only be delayed for one or two weeks, with the goal of opening no later than June 19.
The county, though, is offering a new program that it hopes will spur interest in lifeguarding. Employees will be paid anywhere from $10 to $12 per hour and will also get $1,600 in incentives. That includes certification fees, referrals, a complimentary family pool pass, and more.
