Allegheny Co. reports 132 new positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County reported 132 new positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with 6 new hospitalizations, and one additional death, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.

With Tuesday’s new cases, Allegheny County’s total is now at 8,442 cases. In the last 24 hours, the 132 new positive cases come from 1,778 test results that span from July 14 through August 3. That’s a 7.4% positivity rate.

New cases range in patient age from 10 months to 93 years with an average patient age of 33 years.

The total number of people who have died from coronavirus complications in Allegheny County is 243. The newly reported death is of a person in their 90s with a date of death of July 31.

Across the state of Pennsylvania, 854 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the statewide total to 115,009.

They also reported 23 additional deaths reported across Pennsylvania. There are 7,232 total deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 1,156,520 patients who have tested negative to date.
