Pittsburgh — The Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) announced the extension of CEO Christina Cassotis’ contract through Dec. 31, 2025 and highlighted her prepandemic accomplishments since joining the authority six years ago during the authority’s monthly public board meeting. ACAA also announced and confirmed the reappointment of its current officers and directors to serve an additional year-long term.
“Prior to the pandemic, PIT finished its busiest year in more than a decade, achieving multiple air service milestones and passenger gains including international carrier and west coast growth as well as a reduction in airline costs,” ACAA Board Chairman David Minnotte said. “Beyond air service, Christina has created a culture of innovation leading to achievements that elevate the entire region.”
Minnotte touted Cassotis’ oversight of Pittsburgh International Airport’s (PIT) Neighborhood 91 development, an under-construction additive manufacturing production campus that landed Wabtec Corp. as its anchor tenant in October last year. He also praised PIT’s microgrid project currently under construction which will result in the airport becoming the first in the nation to be powered under its own electrical infrastructure as well as the securing of $19 million in grant funding to construct and expand PIT’s cargo facility, both projects spearheaded under Cassotis’ leadership.
