Nearly a quarter of COVID-19 cases reported in all of Pa. are in Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County continues to see an upward trend in COVID-19 cases with 180 new positive cases and 2 new hospitalizations reported Monday, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.

With Monday’s new cases, Allegheny County’s total is now at 7,474 cases. The new positive cases come from 1,929 test results that span from July 9 through July 26.

New cases range in age from 2 to 101 years with the average patient age of 45 years.

There were no additional deaths reported in the last 24 hours. It’s the third straight day without any COVID-19 related deaths.

The total number of people who have died from coronavirus complications in Allegheny County is 222.

Since March, there have been 583 hospitalizations due to the cornavirus in the county.

Across Pennsylvania, 839 additional cases of COVID-19 were reported Monday, bringing the statewide total to 108,264.

There are 7,118 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 4 new deaths reported.

There are 1,042,424 people who have tested negative to date.
