Allegheny County reports air quality alert due to fireworks

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — Allegheny County issued an air quality alert after experiencing high particulate concentrations since 11 p.m. Sunday.

The alert said this was likely due to widespread Fourth of July fireworks and stagnant air and low winds.

Conditions are expected to improve as the morning fog dissolves.

The Air Quality team will continue to monitor.
