CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 6-week-old boy who was abducted Tuesday from Cleveland, prompting an Amber Alert, was found unharmed in Youngstown, Ohio, police said Wednesday morning.

The baby was reportedly taken about 10 p.m. Tuesday by a family friend, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Police in Cleveland said the baby’s mother reported the abduction. She said she was involved in an argument with the family friend, a 23-year-old woman who assaulted her and drove off with her car with the baby in it.

Before the Amber Alert was cancelled, police said the woman who allegedly took the baby might be intoxicated and could be driving around the Youngstown area.

Just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, police said the baby was found safe in Youngstown and the investigation is ongoing.

Youngstown is about an hour away from Pittsburgh.
