CANONSBURG, Pa. — In Canonsburg, the crowds gathered early for the Fourth of July parade.
This year, an officer killed in the line of duty was given a special honor.
The parade was in memory of Officer Scott Bashioum and in honor of Officer James Saieva.
The dedication gave the parade extra meaning for attendees this year.

Tuesday was the 55th year for Canonsburg's annual July Fourth parade, and it started with something new: a C-130 military jet flyover.
People always enjoy the annual traditions, such as the band and the kids collecting candy.
But the normally joyous celebration had some somber moments.
Several surrounding police departments, including North Strabane, Houston and South Strabane, showed their support for Officer Bashioum and Officer Saieva,
The parade also honored all first responders.
Canonsburg has the second-largest Independence Day parade in Pennsylvania, after Philadelphia.
