ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — LIVE INTERACTIVE RADAR
People who live in a Ross Township neighborhood are sick and tired of the flooding.
Storms ripped through the Channel 11 viewing area this morning into the afternoon hours, and once again Union Avenue in Ross Township was overcome with flood waters, looking more like a river than a roadway.
Emergency crews spent hours working to clear the space and prevent any drivers from getting stuck in it.
Residents like Bill Kerr are simply tired of it.
“I watched it come up. I watched the rain. I was looking out my window. I can see when the rain starts coming up,” Kerr said.
The recent flooding over the last couple of weeks was so bad that two people actually had to be rescued from the rushing waters.
At this point, it’s not clear why flooding continues to be such an issue in the area.
However, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has previously said undersized, private pipes are part of the problem, as well as development over the years.

Kerr hopes there is a resolution soon.
“Hopefully they can come up with something. It’s just every time it rains now we just get worried what’s going to happen.”
In the meantime, neighbors tell us they have removed any valuable belongings from their basements, and will be running sump pumps and cleaning up all weekend long.
