PITTSBURGH — An heated argument between two men in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood ended when one of the men shot and killed a dog.
According to police, the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Sunday in the area of Ashlyn and Bergman streets.
Police said an officer walking in the area heard the gunshots and quickly got to the scene after it happened.
Neither person was identified, but investigators told Channel 11 the dog -- a German Shepherd -- was shot twice and did not survive.
It’s unclear what led to this incident. However, police arrested a man at the scene -- with charges pending related to the argument and shooting.
No other injuries were reported.
Police interviewed neighbors and walked around the perimeter of the block looking for clues. Officers are also reviewing cellphone video they got from a possible witness.
