NASHVILLE — An arrest warrant has been issued for another man in connection with a Butler County woman who was shot and killed along a Nashville highway as she was traveling to work at her job as a nurse.

James Edward Cowan, 28, has been charged with criminal homicide in the case.
On Dec. 3, Caitlyn Kaufman was shot and killed while heading to work as an ICU nurse. The windshield of her SUV was shattered and her back windows were shattered by the gunfire.

Her family told Channel 11 moving to Nashville was her lifelong dream. Her parents said they don’t know if it was a road rage incident, something random or more. Businesses, entrepreneurs and an anonymous donor put up more than $65,000 in reward money related to her death.
Days later, Devaunte Hill, 21, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide in her death. Investigators said he gave a statement that implicated him in her death.
Kaufman grew up in Chicora in Butler County.
