MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Two men are facing charges in connection with the homicide of Temeka Dallas, whose body was found in a McKeesport park in 2019.

After an autopsy was performed, the cause of death was ruled strangulation and the manner was ruled homicide.

Daron Dominique Parks, 26, and Ramonta Yancey, 26 are both facing a number of charges.

Not long after Dallas’ death in September 2019, police were looking for Yancey. They believed he knew something about the homicide. They released surveillance pictures of him and he turned himself in hours later.

Shortly after that, Dallas’ car was found in the parking lot of a Walmart in Washington County. Parks and another man were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

Now, Parks and Yancey are both charged with homicide, robbery, criminal conspiracy and other charges.

Dallas is seen on security cameras leaving an apartment building in Pitcairn the night before she was found in the park, according to the criminal complaint.

The criminal complaint says, “Yancey’s phone records reflect that multiple calls were made to Dallas in the minutes leading up to her death.”

Investigators also say, “This is just time of the locations those suspects were seen on surveillance video using the victims car."

Police said Yancey and Parks were seen getting out of Dallas’ car at the Walmart in North Versailles and cameras inside the store captured them with a cellphone.

Investigators used license plate readers to track Dallas’ vehicle. The vehicle was tracked in three different locations -- Bridgeville, Heidelberg and North Versailles.

Parks is currently in the Washington County Jail and Yancey is currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
