Assault reported near University of Pittsburgh’s main campus

PITTSBURGH — An assault early Friday morning near the University of Pittsburgh’s main campus in Oakland is being investigated.

The assault happened off campus along Forbes Avenue at about 4 a.m., and police from Pitt and the city of Pittsburgh were called.

Police said the victims told them they were fondled by a man, who then ran away, heading eastbound on Forbes Avenue toward Bellefield Avenue.

The man is described as black, between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighing about 250 pounds. He had short, cropped hair, a scar below his left eye and a gap between his top teeth. He was wearing dark khaki-colored pants and a dark blue shirt.
