A West Virginia man is dead after an SUV crossed double yellow lines in Fayette County on Wednesday and struck his car head-on.
Richard L. Thompson, 68, of Worthington, West Virginia, was pronounced dead at the New Salem Road scene by a deputy coroner, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Ryan Krysak, 30, of Confluence was headed eastbound near Kaider Road in Menallen Township around 1:30 p.m. when his Chevrolet Blazer crossed into the westbound lanes and hit Thompson's Ford sedan, police said.
He was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, with serious injuries.
It was not immediately clear why Krysak's car veered or whether he will face any charges.
State police say the investigation is ongoing.
