PITTSBURGH — Attorney Paul Jubas, who was hired by the family of Peter Spencer, said they’ve hired their medical examiner, and have claimed the Venango County Coroner won’t release evidence so they can do their own investigation.
Jubas said Spencer was the only Black person who went on a camping trip with four others last December. He was shot in the buttocks, back and neck nine times. Jubas said troopers found drugs, guns and alcohol at the scene, but nobody was arrested.

Jubas said he wants the Venango County District Attorney to recuse himself and to allow the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office to investigate the case.
He told Channel 11 he feels this case has racial undertones and should be turned over to the state to get a complete, fair investigation.
