BEAVER CO., Pa. — The Beaver County elections office confirmed to Channel 11 that it will not start counting mail-in ballots until Nov. 4, the day after Election Day.
Daniel Camp, Beaver Co. commissioner and chair of the board of elections, said their office is only about 6-10 workers and want to make sure they have full staff and attention when counting votes.
Camp told Channel 11′s Mike Holden the office wants to secure the integrity of the election -- not letting random people do the job.
They’re a smaller office. The office size is about 6-10 workers. They have to make sure they have full staff and attention. They want to secure the integrity of the election. They don’t want random folks to be doing the job. @WPXI #ElectionDay

All 129 precincts in the county will remain open on Election Day for those who want to cast their ballot in-person. If you requested a mail-in ballot and don’t want to mail it, you can bring it to the poll with you on Election Day -- along with your ID -- to cast it.
Camp said Beaver County will increase the number of sheriff’s deputies who have jurisdiction over polling places. Officials are also working with larger municipalities to make sure they have extra officers on-duty if anything were to arise.
