Bellevue woman killed, another injured in Pittsburgh shooting

One woman was killed and a second woman was wounded early Sunday morning in a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood, police said.

Officers were called about 4 a.m. Sunday to the 1100 block of Liverpool Street after it was reported that 10 gunshots were heard in the area.

Police said Mia White, 30, of Bellevue, was found shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 27-year-old woman was shot in the leg and has since been released from a hospital.

The woman told Channel 11 she was sitting in the driver’s seat when she the shots began firing at them. The woman said White was the passenger, and they were shot before they could get out of the car.

Police said the women were returning home around 4 a.m. after a night out when neighbors reported hearing at least 10 gunshots.

Several of the gunshots hit and killed White, while her friend was shot three times in the leg.

The woman told Channel 11 that White was “more like a sister” to her, and that White was her child’s godmother.
