PITTSBURGH — A body found Thursday matches the description of a young woman reported missing from Oakland.

Channel 11 spoke with the father of Olivia Zane, who has been missing for a little over a week.

The 23-year-old is believed to be dead, according to her father, John Zane.

He told Channel 11 Pittsburgh River Rescue found the body of a young woman matching Olivia’s description near the Courtyard by Marriott, not far from the Homestead Gray’s Bridge.

John Zane said the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office is now working to identify the body, but evidence the family has been given - including cell phone data and her last known whereabouts - confirm what no family wants to hear.

The Zane family has even published an obituary, citing Olivia’s emotional struggles brought on by a chemical imbalance. Her family said she fought to get better.

Olivia worked in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University and lived in North Oakland.
